Description
🧒 The Unaccompanied Minor (UM) Service is required for children who are:
- 7 to 11 years old at the time of travel;
- Is traveling alone without an adult companion;
- Traveling within the Philippines
The UM Service is not available for:
- Children below 7 years old
- They won't be allowed to board without an adult companion.
- Minors aged 12 and above:
- They are considered Adult guests, and do not require the UM Service.
This service is provided to ensure the child’s safety and comfort during the flight. The cost of Unaccompanied Minor Fee is indicated when you book your flight.
📝 General Guidelines
To avail of the UM Service, the parent/guardian must:
- Complete the Passenger Handling Form.
- Please fill this out at least 24 hours before your flight.
- Pay for the Unaccompanied Minor Fee;
- Endorse the child at the check-in counter, present their valid ID, along with the child's travel documents;
- Stay at the airport until the child's flight has departed.
Important Reminders:
- The UM Service is only available on domestic flights.
- The UM Service is not available for minors who need Portable Oxygen Concentrators (POC)
- For their safety, they must travel with an adult companion.
- We can only accept a limited number of unaccompanied minors per flight.
- Make sure you set them as Children when you first book your flight.
Traveling to and from Davao City
In compliance with the Davao City Children’s Welfare Code, a permit to travel from the Davao City Social Welfare & Development Office (CSWDO) or Special Office for Children's Concerns is required for all passengers below 18 years old if:
- They are traveling alone, or
- Traveling with a person other than their parents/legal guardians.
Below are the required documents for the permit to travel:
- Birth Certificate of the minor (original and photocopy)
- Written parental consent attested by the Punong Barangay (if no parents, consent shall be made by the grandparents or eldest sibling)
- Identification Card of the minor (original and photocopy)
- Identification Card of the authorized person who will accompany the child in his travels (original and photocopy).
If a child/minor is traveling with both or any of their parents, there is no need to secure a permit as long as there is a document to prove the minor's relations such as:
- Birth Certificate
- Valid IDs
